dejar las cosas para más tarde es vida

rough literal translation: procrastination is life!

i'm still in oregon with a few days left before the trip. i am not quite ready (physically) but i am ready (mentally). i've been waiting so long for this trip and i'm excited as can be! all the reading of travel books and dreaming of places to visit is coming together.

july 1 - 6am flight out of PDX, many hours later arrive in cancun
july 2,3 - lay on beaches of isla mujeres (island of women)
july 4,5,6 - merida, chichen itza
july 7 - head to flores (guatemala) via chetumal
july 8,9,10 - flores, el remate, lago de peten itza, tikal
july 11,12,13 - coban, lanquin, semuc champey
july 14,15,16 - lago de atitlan - panajachel and san pedro
july 17,18 - xela
july 19,20 - chichicastenango
july 21,22,23 - antigua
july 24 - bus to guate, flight to cancun
july 25 - fly back to PDX

going with a backpack, some clothes and camera and will come back with much more. i've got a ton of info on hostels, sights to see, things/places to eat and random tips from strangers. my goal for this blog is not to write every detail of my trip down as i go. i will probably post every few days to say where i've been, maybe post a picture or two and any funny/interesting/crazy stories i may have been involved in or heard. i'm also keeping a paper journal of sorts to go along with the pictures i will organize when i come back. no one really wants to see a zillion pictures of their friend having fun in another country anyway. i just don't want to spend all my vacation time online when i could be meeting people and eating. i'm sure i'll be posting a lot about food cause i'll be eating lots. =) maybe if i come down with some intestinal thing i'll blog a bit. i hope not but i hear it's inevitable.

Woo! I can't wait to read all about it! You did forget one thing on your itinerary, though:

July 11th: Miss Chris' birthday party.

:D
